CHURCH OUTSIDE THE BOX

I believe that Father God is waiting for us to do church outside the box. Inside the box means, to keep on doing church within the parameters of the church that we inherited. It means that they will do some cosmetic changes, but they remain within the parameters of known organised religion.

It is very much like buying a new BMW. The new model is marvellous, its looks and mechanics are a massive upgrade from the present model. But on the front of the nose you still see the trademark kidney shaped grill.

Out of the box does not mean a model change. Out of the box means a totally new look, new drive train, and new upholstery. It will not resemble the old at all.

Present dat church is very much man's design to accomodate God. We decide what we want to do and then ask God to bless that. Real time church outside the box is God's design to captivate humanity and to dwell in them. Church was not man's decision but god's plan for us.

I believe that one of the most powerful dynamics of the church in the third day, is the fact that we have been granted the permission to do church differently or totally out of the box or parameters of the present.

I believe that Father God is expecting the apostles and prophets to come to the table with entirely knew strategies for their cities and towns. It is indeed the calling and the anointing of the apostles/prophets to birth something mind blowing and fresh. It must be like a pearl found, attractive and irresistibly desirable.

Matthew 13:45-46 (nkjv) “again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeKing beautiful pearls, who, when He had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it”.

I believe that the entire creation is waiting for this glorious manifestation of the mature sons of God. It will indeed be a grand affair when the established, confident sons of God step up to the base and take control of their given destiny.

Many Christians are waiting for the “day of the Lord” or the second coming of Jesus Christ. But before Christ returns in glory, He will be glorified in and through His saints as they demonstrate their likeness to Him and their obedience to His commands.

We are not waiting for Him, He is waiting for us.

What are the traditional distinctive characteristics of the present day church?

  • this church is very much about the set man
  • this church is about that set mans vision
  • this church is about, "whom do we relate to, can our relationship further the churches numerical growth?"
  • this church is about the status quo – what the people say.
  • this church is driven by fads – whatever someone discovers, works for them in America, will be imported. Otherwise we will be looked down upon. Peer group pressure. Models are not transferable; principles and values are.
  • this church cannot think for itself, it needs to be controlled from the front. (Apostle, pastor, leadership team etc.)  After all, 2 visions bring division.
  • this church never reaches maturity, which is the consequence of government from the front. Old covenant brings rule from without, new covenant rule from within. People sit in rows looKing in the back of someone’s head for years without responding to the Holy Ghost callings and giftings within them.
  • this church captures people rather than captivates people.
  • The leaders of this church have a need to possess, acquire and control. This is Eros love. Love with a hook, love that uses people but does not fulfil them. The box becomes the coffin of their dreams and aspirations.
  • This church suffers loss of members by the thousands because of the sin of   expediency (adherence to self serving. Serving of own vision and ambition at the cost of others). Use of short-term effective methods: the use of methods that bring the most immediate benefits, based on practical rather than spiritual considerations.
  • People leave this church in order to persue a relationship with God, that enables their dream to both flourish and be fulfilled.
  • this church is Sunday centred, meeting centred, instead of God centred;
  • this church strives to be balanced. The only object that is balanced is a stationary object. The Kingdom of God is not stationary and therefore we do not strive for balance but to live life to the full, one day at a time. We endeavour to hear and to be everything that Father God wants us to be

What will the distinctive characteristics of the “outside the box” church be?

  • Main mission is to introduce people to a God that does not dwell in buildings but in the heart of redeemed man. People mostly relate to God through a pastor or somebody that knows Him firsthand. (law)
  • Control of leadership is diminishing in favour of the fruit of self control. If the Kingdom of God is within us then we need to grow up and allow self government. (fruit of Spirit filled life; self control)
  •  Pioneering vision will give way to empowering vision. The planting team is task or purpose driven, that can only be for a season, unless people are used instead of being discipled. Sons being Fathered instead of servants given a job to do.

Galatians 4:1-7 (nkjv)  now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,  but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the Father.  Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “abba, Father!”  Therefore you are no longer a slave but a Son, and if a Son, then an heir of God through Christ.

The person or team called to pioneer, charge the atmosphere with vision, focus, direction, energy and faith (dominant faith) for a season. Thereafter the mission is to coach Christians to become believers. (There is more unbelief in the church than outside the church).

  • We need to ask ourselves: in which way do we meet to be effective in our cities? How can we meet to impress the lost and dying world with the life of Christ? In which manner do we meet to display the attractiveness of Christ the King?
  • The maturity of the saints is of utmost importance.
  • Every man is a minister with a ministry that needs to be developed.
  • The meetings do not revolve around motivating the saints, but equipping them.
  • Coaching is the basis of ministry, as Christianity cannot be taught but can only be caught. People need to be coached into a real-time relationship with Father God.
  • No membership. (Membership belongs in tennis and social clubs. We offer; friendship, relationship through fellowship.

This rising “out of the box” apostolic/prophetic, third day church is not about more control, more hierarchy, systems of oppression. It is about the cultivation of a permissive mission orientated atmosphere where everyone thrives, everyone grows, everyone dreams. The concept (model) of the apostolic third day church is that everyone is on a mission. Encouraged by permission giving leaders.
